AWESOME submitted by henryhlin on July 14, 2012, 7:21pm This book was very interesting to me, when I read it. For those that don't know what the Halo universe is about. Here is a quick run down of what this book is mainly about. So the forerunners were an advanced intelligent alien beings that basically ruled the galaxy millions of years ago. Now in that timeline everything was advanced, take example of the famous Star wars quote "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away." That quote is almost exactly what to use when referring to this book's timeline. Back then the humans were cable of space travel. In the book it is doesn't fully explain on how the humans were incredibly advanced to low life living apes. All that the book can explain is that if any species that is even slightly more advanced than the forerunners. They will take their chance in annihilating the species back to the start. Now the in the forerunners rule over the galaxy history tells us that they just disappeared. *SPOILERS* (I have no idea if this is a spoiler but just to make sure) they disappeared because of a powder that the Precursors created. Now I know what you are thinking "how can powder destroy or make and entire advanced alien race disappear." That is because this powder created the FLOOD. The flood is an unknown alien parasite that burrows into any flesh or living tissue and makes it into a walking corpse. But this parasite not only turn the living to its servant, but it also takes in the host's memory. So if the host ever learned how to shoot a gun then the parasite just learned how to use a gun. So if you are still wondering how powder could CONSUME the forerunners. Well think of a walking tank that could shoot lasers and drive a warship. *SPOILERS*

Would Recommend! submitted by ajstemp on June 27, 2018, 2:19pm If you're preparing to play Halo 4, or would just like more insight into the world of the Halo universe, I'd highly recommend this. It's an interesting story that handles the Forerunners well and adds a lot of depth to the world that's hinted at in the first three games. Some things take getting used to, but I settled into the book quickly.
