A hit for Pitt submitted by markwells on February 22, 2012, 7:19am Best baseball movie of the year should appeal to people who aren't sports nuts as well. Good acting gives this one the touch of realism you need in a sports movie. B+

Moneyball submitted by honordenver on June 20, 2012, 2:19pm a great film i had heard about it but it was the best baseball film ever. Jonah hill and brad Pitt played great roles in the movie. well done

Try the book too submitted by adimarzo on July 4, 2012, 11:32am Interesting behind the scenes film about baseball and a different approach for building a team. Jonah Hill is great and Brad Pitt delivers a good performance. Read the book for more detail about the true story of Billy Beane and the Oakland A's.

great submitted by ftan on July 16, 2012, 4:12pm this film was great. i was surprised when i saw jonah hill because he is usually in r rated comedies. but he did a fine job.

good submitted by manz on July 11, 2016, 10:21am A solid baseball movie. I liked it more than I thought. Oh, and Brad Pitt :)

Different Kind of Sports Movie submitted by Meginator on June 23, 2017, 11:44pm This movie wasn't really what I expected, and while I can understand why it was a critical success I didn't have quite as much fun watching it. I do like the fact that it takes a different angle than most underdog sports stories, and it's interesting to see Moneyball's effects on real-world sports culture.

It helps to be a baseball fan. submitted by lisa on August 14, 2018, 2:20pm But it isn't necessary.

Pretty good submitted by c_zhang on June 28, 2019, 11:48pm This movie really held my interest. I thought it was a fascinating story.

A good movie submitted by crp on August 12, 2019, 9:07pm A good movie with good acting

Great storyline submitted by tbbrown76 on July 17, 2020, 8:25pm Excellent acting. I love that a small market that thinks outside the box of Yankees and Dodgers can still contend. Highly recommended.

Entertaining but lacking important details submitted by kossjoe1999 on August 22, 2023, 8:58pm It's tough for a sports movie to hit all the big points. The strategy of moneyball has worked really well and changed the way teams scout players. They focus on minor moves like Scott Hatteberg, but miss talking about having drafted the pitching staff of Zito, Hudson, and Mulder who were all Cy Young candidates along with having the league MVP of Tejada. Those superstars were all players they had drafted and developed so focusing on them would have been more interesting.
