Charles Frazier, the author of National Book Award winning Cold Mountain, presents a new novel. In Nightwoods, Frazier envisions a late 1950s North Carolina through the eyes of Luce, a single woman who must care for the quiet twins of her murdered sister, Lily.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A good read submitted by audreyh on June 13, 2015, 2:08pm Though Frazier's prose could be a little overwrought at times, I enjoyed this look into the isolated lives of a family of hurt and traumatized people. The book is tense with suspense as Bud, the murder of Luce's sister, slowly gets closer and closer to the twins who have come into Luce's care. The last third of the book was almost impossible to put down.
