Great recording submitted by romanticmind on August 19, 2013, 6:18pm I'm a huge fan of the Leviathan series and the final book in the series was no disappointment! I listed to the book on CD and it kept me awake for a long road trip in the middle of the night--I was practically on the edge of my seat with excitement! Also, the person reading the book for the recording did a great job doing different accents and voices for different characters to differentiate them without becoming annoying, which I really appreciated. Go read (or listen to) this book!!

Steampunk Adventure submitted by Eris on July 3, 2016, 7:57am I found this to be a satisfying conclusion to the Leviathan series--the war may not be over yet, but our protagonists' time on the Leviathan has come to an end, so the series follows suit. I congratulate Mr. Westerfeld on the fascinating and complex world he has created here, even if I would have liked more information on how the land war is progressing. But I suppose if you're in the Air Service, infantry is so far removed from your experience as to seem insignificant. But enough of my history-buff nitpicking. This series is a rollicking good adventure, and the narrator does a good job--grown men voicing teenage girls can often be iffy or screechy, but Mr. Cumming handles Deryn deftly.
Recommended for fans of steampunk, adventure, and alternate history!

great narrator, exceptional story submitted by camelsamba on June 30, 2017, 9:04pm We listened to the first book in this series (Leviathan) in the car while on vacation. I thought we'd also listened to the second (Behemoth) and that maybe I'd dozed through a few parts, but as I got deeper into Goliath (book 3 in series) I realized that was not true. Instead, I'd dozed through parts of book 1 and never even started book 2. But it didn't matter a whole lot: this plot was able to stand on its own and is quite enjoyable. The world is amazingly complex and fascinating - although to thoroughly understand it, you probably do need to read one of the previous books. The main characters are strong, relationships rich, action exciting. And the narrator is wonderful!
