COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Strange, surprising, funny submitted by FordAlpha on August 13, 2019, 10:53am "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" is perhaps best known for its terrific soundtrack, which revitalized interest in American roots music. It also has great acting, a clever literary structure, humor both broad and subtle, impressive visuals, and many unexpected twists. It's not to everyone's taste, though, and that's fine. I don't think it's intended to have universal appeal.

Coen Brothers' spin their action-packed version of The Odyssey. submitted by lmangus on August 18, 2020, 7:49am In this version, the film takes place in rural Mississippi in the late 1930s (Great Depression), and is supported by a fantastic soundtrack/musical numbers and a crisp with humor script.. It has a packed cast of stars you may or may not recognize right off, as the casting is such they aren't necessarily playing their typical characters, but brilliant. The film on blu-ray widescreen is such a pleasure to see again. Crank the sound system and enjoy. Request the soundtrack while you are requesting the film. It's just wonderful. One of our favorites.

Prime submitted by markwells on June 30, 2022, 1:22pm This work is the directors the Coen brothers' in their prime and at their best. It has a little of everything. A great story, comedy music, acting, cinematography. I could go on but I think you get it. A "must see." Grade: A.

I just don't get this one submitted by brooksza on July 25, 2022, 3:57pm This movie still doesn't do it for me. I appreciated some of the thematic patterns, the 3s, the music and Clooney's performance. But I don't get why people put this as top tier Coens.
