Revan: hero, traitor, conqueror, villain, savior. A Jedi who left Coruscant to defeat Mandalorian--and returned a disciple of the dark side, bent on destroying the Republic. The Jedi Council gave Revan his life back, but the price of redemption was high. His memories have been erased. All that's left are nightmare--and deep, abiding fear.

Darkness that shines brighter than any light. submitted by Flying Sheep on June 21, 2012, 8:36am Anyone who has played the original Star Wars Knight of the Old Republic, for Xbox or PC is familiar with Revan, the mighty Sith Lord who returned to the light side and saved the galaxy from his former apprentice, Darth Malak. The novel, written by Star Wars literary master mind Drew Karpyshyn, is like a follow up to Revan's life leading directly into the new MMORPG game, Star Wars The Old Republic.

Revan is perhaps Karpyshyn's best novel yet. It focuses on many characters both new and old to the Old Republic era of Star Wars. It is a great read even for those that aren't familiar with the video games because there are a lot of references to Revan's past plust this story doesn't have much to do with the events from the video games. Karpyshyn uses a colorful cast of characters, both good and evil, and creates a very deep plot. I could not set the book down once I started reading. I wanted the heroes to succeed but at the same time, even several of the antagonists became very likeable and hard for me to hate. Plus the constants twists in the plot and unexpected turns left me guessing until the end as to what was really going on. On a scale of 1 to 10, Revan deserves a 10 hands down. I would strongly reccomend it to any Star Wars fan, especially if you like Drew Karpyshyn's other novels.
