BEST gardening book for Midwest submitted by bchapman630 on August 4, 2013, 6:15pm This book got everything right. You get information regarding specific plants that could adequately survive the Midwestern (Michigan!) climate. Not only do you get plants, but you get many landscaping lay outs which give options for height, color and floral/greenery preferences. The illustrations are exactly what you need for ideas and everything is clearly labeled. You see a flower you like based on color and height in the garden shown? It's labeled - and information is given about the specifics. I always read about plants but then when I put them together they are a mess; this books helps you sort out which plants go where with very concrete suggestions. They also pay attention to how gardens or landscaping looks during different seasons. Just an excellent book. I am actually going to order a copy to keep on hand 24/7!
