All that changes when he develops a crippling fear of blood and is forced to give up surgery. Now a GP in a sleepy, picturesque Cornish fishing village, Doc Martin offends everyone in town, including the one person he wants to impress, beautiful teacher Louisa Glasson. Entertaining British TV submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on July 15, 2013, 10:40am For those who love British television, "Doc Martin" will not disappoint. The show follows Doctor Martin Ellingham, moved from London to the tiny Cornish town of Portwenn, after he he suddenly became afraid of blood. This poses quite a problem for someone in the medical field, but the doctor manages to scrape by an adapts to a completely different life on the seaside.

The first season had only six episodes (this is common among British shows), but watch them first to understand what is happening this season. The comedy is dry, but the characters' lives engross the viewer.
