Excellent Banjo Overshadowed by Guest Vocals submitted by Meginator on June 12, 2021, 9:15am I wish that this album featured more instrumentals and relied less heavily on guest vocalists, but Kristin Scott Benson’s incredible talent shines through even when the banjo isn’t directly in the spotlight. These tracks offer a lively taste of bluegrass, with an emphasis on traditional musical styles, vocal performances, and lyrical themes, for better or worse. It’s incredible to hear such a talented performer and even more fulfilling to know that the person behind the plucking is a woman, given the general prominence of men within the genre.
