Is there Life on Mars? submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on June 14, 2014, 1:42pm Detective Sam Tyler continues to investigate crimes in 1973, although his real body is in a coma in a hospital in 2006.
On this disc, Sam, Annie and the gang investigate the deaths of several young women whom they believe are linked to a swingers' circle run by a wealthy local business owner. That scenario gives viewers a reminder of what life was like pre-AIDS. Sam also meets his aunt, although she, of course, does not recognize her grown nephew.
The show's title comes from David Bowie's 1973 hit song of the same name. The show plays a great deal of '70s music, not only what the characters are listening to on the radio, but as the background score and during ending credits.
