COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Coping With Sadness submitted by mpcsoft on July 19, 2011, 8:58am Stewart O'Nan's newest "Emily, Alone" is a sequel to his earlier novel "Wish You Were Here". The newer work follows the life of the widowed mother, Emily as she tries to navigate her new reality. O'Nan is a master of character and place, and is expert in showing us the inner life of his characters, as he so ably demonstrated in the amazing "Songs for the Missing".

This is a very worthwhile read. In reading this work, we become involved with, and identify with this woman who finds herself alone in life and dealing with life's usual vagaries without someone to lean on.

A wonderful book!
