I love jars of clay. I went to see them in concert once and they ROCKED!!! Great music for Christians and non christians. Great inspirational music :)

But while "The Shelter" may represent a departure from their oldest music, the differences are slight enough that longtime fans of the band should be more than satisfied with this album. Moving more into a praise/worship sensibility than previously, Jars of Clay continue to deliver well crafted lighter rock songs just this side of pop. None of the tracks on the album stood out particularly for me, but I found "The Shelter" a soothing, mellow album that makes a worthy addition to Jars of Clay's distinguished body of work.
