Five Stars submitted by Avliss on June 24, 2018, 4:33pm I avoided this book for a while because it’s a romance, which I don’t typically like to read. But several people have told me that they had the same initial reaction, had to read it, and wound up loving it. So I figured, why not give it a shot?

Now I have too have joined the masses. I loved this novel. It’s surprisingly funny and full of interesting and amusing characters (some of whom I’d be quite happy never to meet in real life). And while I found myself rolling my eyes a bit at the drama between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, it was still rather sweet and engaging. I especially found this version, which is heavily annotated, very helpful. The notes not only gave me context, but also drew attention to details I probably would’ve otherwise missed.
