Ugh submitted by klickitat on August 6, 2012, 6:32pm This book reads like the love child of High Fidelity and the movie Superbad. If that sounds good to you, you'll probably like this book.

I think I'd enjoy this book a lot more if I didn't find Hassan (the best friend) so annoying. If your name isn't Jayne and you don't live on an awesome spaceship, don't make up fake swear words and use them constantly. And please stop calling yourself "Daddy" and referencing your "man tits." There's nothing worse than having to read about characters who, if they were real and you were riding on a bus with them, you would get up and move away from. Hassan is someone who would motivate me to get off the bus.

Also, Colin? You're insufferable. I'm surprised any woman has spent time with you, not to mention 19 (but really it's 17, you liar) of them.

My proverbial hat, however, is off to Mr. Jeff Woodman, narrator. He skillfully handles dialogue in French, Arabic, and German, a Captain Kirk impression, convincing gagging noises, realistic teenage sarcasm, Southern accents, male and female voices, and an old coot with a lisp. Well done.

Not as good on Audio submitted by jmb.mlis on August 31, 2014, 11:01pm All the footnotes really make this a better choice to read in print, though they do their best to make it come through on the audio.
