Country's Bluegrass Roots submitted by Meginator on June 12, 2021, 9:15am Dierks Bentley taps some serious talent on this album, which falls somewhere between bluegrass and mainstream country in an area that is perfectly suited to Bentley’s talents. The originals are catchy and work well together thematically, and the covers offer something different to the originals, largely due to guest spots by Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers. Bentley’s low vocals anchor each track and give the album a down-home feel that meshes perfectly with the lyrical content. This album holds up really well over time, with a certain timeless quality to it that I really enjoyed.
