The Poor are Big Business! submitted by mpcsoft on July 21, 2011, 10:37am This is an excellent look at an entire industry that has sprung up around catering to the working poor. As if this class of people do not have enough to contend with, they can be ripped off by check-cashing places, rent-to-own places, car title loan places, subprime credit card offerers, and subprime mortgage lenders.

The author traces several people who have lost homes due to these predators (who insist they are providing the poor a valuable service, which begs the question: valuable to whom?).

This is an extremely interesting topic and the book is very well written.
