"A novel of vampires, werewolves, and parasols."--Cover.
Alexia Tarabotti, now Lady Maccon, awakens in the wee hours of the mid-afternoon to find her husband, who should be decently asleep like any normal werewolf, yelling at the top of his lungs. Then he disappears, forcing her to upend werewolf pack dynamics as only a soulless can.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

The Parasol Protectorate Continues submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on July 20, 2013, 1:43am Alexia Tarabotti, now Lady Woolsey, continues to solve mysteries in this second of five Parasol Protectorate books. Although now a married woman in Victorian London, Alexia still refuses to play society's games that demand a woman act weak and defer to their husbands. Alexia is far more interested in saving herself--and Great Britain--from supernatural threats and protecting her husband's werewolf pack.
In this book, pack business sends her to Scotland were her husband was born and his extended family still lives. Best of all, she travels there on a dirigible! Of course, disaster strikes, but Alexia saves the day, along with her trusted friends, including a positively-portrayed butch lesbian. Indeed, the series has several positive gay and lesbian characters, some of whom are supernaturals.
Alexia is a preternatural (a soulless being who is the opposite of supernatural creatures and can instead turn them human while she touches them).
I highly recommend this series, especially to anyone who enjoys steampunk and/or fantasy. The plot keeps readers turning the pages.
Be forewarned, some parts are a tad risque. If it were a movie, it would be rated "R."

Fun submitted by amd12 on August 27, 2020, 10:13am A great and addition to the Parasol Protectorate series. Well written and makes you laugh out loud.

have book 3 ready submitted by Princess Cimorene on July 21, 2021, 7:25pm This whole series is excellent, but this is the only one that ends on a real cliffhanger. It's the worst ending of the lot but the rest of the series makes up for it! Each book is very witty and action-packed!
