Growing up submitted by simone racine on August 5, 2011, 1:53pm Brother Bear is experiencing growing up in the tree house. One day, he wakes up and his bed is too small for him. Father Bear and Brother Bear go out to make a new bed. All the time, Brother Bear would ask "Where is my old bed going?"
Father Bear finally answers: "There is a new baby! The bed will go to her."

Brother bear and father bear go out to make a new bed for brother, and by the time they return sister has arrived. He just found out that morning he would be a brother, and then bam, here she is.

Cute story - yes a little odd submitted by EllieN-W on August 14, 2015, 8:57pm sweet story that is a little odd since Mama bear just seems to have had a baby while brother and papa were out of the house. In a later book they make mention of mama having delivered sister in a hospital- so some astute little lawyers might notice that possible discrepancy.

I found the story a bit dated in how it handled mama bear being pregnant and giving birth, but not in a harmful way. The question of where the baby comes from was completely ignored. The focus is completely on the experience of the older sibling, and maybe that's the appeal for big siblings to-be.
