Forced to give up his dreams of art school, Zach works dead-end jobs to support his sister and her son. Not certain about his life, he paints, surfs and hangs out with his best friend, Gabe. When Gabe's older brother returns home for the summer, Zach suddenly finds himself drawn into a relationship he did not expect. Struggling to reconcile his own desires with those of his family and friends, he is finally forced to be true to himself. He discovers that with the power of love he can have a future with promise.

Warmth and Peace submitted by pkooger on September 15, 2010, 10:59am I didn't initially think the title of this film fit all that well, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. Zach has a frustrating life, and things beyond his control keep grinding him down. When he finally finds something good and honest in his life, we all breathe a collective sigh of relief and cheer him on. Then, when that good thing is threatened, we feel the sting of disappointment and frustration all the more. I initially wasn't very interested in the character of surfer-boy Zach, but as the story progressed I found myself rooting for him more and more.
