get your health on and thrive submitted by manz on September 8, 2010, 1:56pm This is a great look into diet, health, and the effect on performance. The author gives examples that aren't too in your face, yet are motivational and easy to follow through on. There are plenty of recipes in the book too. The book is not about "why you should be vegan." It's about diet and exercise and tips on how to do so healthily while following a plant-based diet. It breaks down how what goes into your body effects the outcome of every day life. I am a non-athlete, average sort of person with a plant-based diet, and I found the book to be a good source of critical thinking regarding what I want my food choices to do for me physically.

"The Thrive Diet," also by Brendan Brazier, is a super fantastic book that I recommend as well. (Available through MeLCat!)

And no, I am still not going to give up my coffee, which is an "uncomplementary stress" on my body. *Maybe* I'll drink a bit less of it.
