Great travel graphic novel submitted by A2AE on July 21, 2020, 5:52pm A charming account of an American’s month spent in Paris with her mother at the end of her college career. If one can’t travel to Paris, one might as well say dream about it with the guidance of this author and illustrator.
Good, but not as good as later Lucy books submitted by lola.b on August 5, 2021, 7:53pm French Milk is one of the Lucy's earliest books and it shows. While it is a delightful travelogue (the food descriptions are fantastic!), it's lacking the excellence of her later books. Her later books are rich with insight and charm, and this one is simply an illustrated journal (albeit an enjoyable one). However, I could see this being a very fun book to check-out before a trip to Paris or just as a trip down memory lane after your own travels.
Sweet submitted by bcartm01 on June 17, 2022, 11:00pm I found this graphic novel on a list online of graphic novels to read. I found it really enjoyable, however I could tell that it was from a younger version of the author’s self. It reminded me of diaries that I would keep when I was younger, and it was a very charming read. The artwork was beautiful.
Warning to my past self: this is a TRAVELOGUE submitted by brielle on July 10, 2022, 7:57pm I've really liked some of Lucy Knisley's books, but I should know by now that the travelogue format doesn't resonate with me.
