colorful yet dark submitted by adimarzo on August 25, 2011, 9:47am Hansel and Gretel is one of the darker fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm. But Rachel Isadora's wonderful illustrations brighten the book. I especially love the illustrations of Hansel and Gretel themselves. And the evil witch is quite scary looking.
The witch scared me submitted by Cloverdale on July 18, 2013, 1:01pm I am 6years old. I did not like the witch. It was a short book.
Great Illustrations submitted by cbrewster on August 19, 2013, 5:12pm My child and I have read many of Isadora's books because we really in join the collage technique that she uses. I agree with the others that the witch in this story is a bit scary looking, but my three year just loved her! He made me go back and just read the pages she was on. But I will agree, a parent should look over the illustrations to make sure that it will be appropriate for their child.
