The Stork Club (b&w, 98 min., 1945): "This charming romantic comedy is set in motion by an older millionaire (Fitzgerald) whose life is saved by a hat check girl (Hutton) who works at the fabulous Stork Club. The millionaire decides he will use part of his fortune to make the girl happy. When Betty Hutton's boyfriend (Defore) returns from the war in the Pacific a series of delightful misunderstandings ensue proving money cannot buy happiness... but love can"--Container.
The perils of Pauline (col., 98 min., 1947 ): "Betty Hutton a severely underrated superb star plays the part of silent serial screen star Pearl White. She moves from a sweat shop to a traveling repertory company where she meets the star of the show Mike Farrington (Lund) and falls in love. Unfortunately for her he is a 'cold fish'. Miss Hutton works like a trooper in this romance to get her man. After leaving the company she becomes a famous silent screen star while Farrington's star begins to dim. Farrington's ego and World War I get in the way of their romance and all seems doomed for the couple when fate steps in"--Container.
