Excellent music! submitted by Caroline Piro on June 30, 2013, 10:56pm If you, like me, played Nintendo as a kid, most of this music will be familiar. Not only does it include the now-iconic theme to Super Mario Bros., but it also includes the rest of the music from the game as well as the music from other such classics as Dr. Mario and Super Mario Bros. 3 in all of their glorious 8-bit mono sound.

8-Bit Classics submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 10:55am The Famicom’s finest compositions are some of the most iconic and influential game soundtracks of all time, and listening to them in isolation makes it clear just how brilliant they are. Working with a limited range of sounds and memory, Koji Kondo packs in not only the famous memorable earworms but also tons of depth, from amazing counterpoint basslines (seriously) to layered harmonies. This music will bring back memories for most of us but it’s worth digging into to really appreciate the genius behind it.
