Superb submitted by Fevvers - STAR473 on July 28, 2013, 5:53am This book is a master class in writing age-appropriate fiction, telling a story with elegance and simplicity, and in tapping rich veins of legend to tell a fresh and unique story. Any adult Neil Gaiman fans should not skip this gem due to it being short and kid-targeted. It's an adventure that any bookworm can appreciate.

Perfect for Any Age! submitted by sdunav on July 9, 2018, 4:36pm This is a strangely engaging little story about Odd, the son of a Viking, and his encounter with some Norse gods. It's nicely illustrated, too. I thought it was a 4 star book until the last few pages, when Gaiman added an absolutely perfect ending onto his already enjoyable story. It's good for pretty much any age reader, I think.

Odd And The Frost Giants submitted by lstorc on August 6, 2018, 4:27am A wonderful introduction into Norse mythology

Norse pantheon submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on June 24, 2022, 11:20am For fans of Neil Gaiman's "Norse Mythology" and "American Gods," the story of Odd will warm your heart, even if the novel is set in a frozen land. Gaiman uses the ancient Norse pantheon in this children's book about a child who doesn't fit in but who nonetheless saves the day. It is a particularly good book for and about children with disabilities, as it treats the subject of prejudice against people with disabilities accurately. This causes the reader to side with our main character but not pity him. Indeed, it is a great story for any kid who feels as if they don't fit in or feels as if they disappoint their parents.
