Karla's Asian connection? submitted by camelsamba on August 21, 2017, 10:18pm This is a very different installment in the Smiley series, as it is set in Asia instead of Europe. It takes place after the "fall" in the earlier installments, so British intelligence is having to pull its way back out of the shattering caused by the mole Bill Heydon. Early on it doesn't seem the least bit connected, but the plot meanders over and familiar characters pop up, so it eventually all fits in.
