Really Good submitted by ColeenT on July 13, 2011, 5:49pm Really good book. A must-read1

Great Book submitted by clmcdl on August 17, 2011, 1:14am Engaging story about a teen insomniac who spends the summer at the beach with her father and his new wife and baby. Auden makes a number of new friends, meets a fellow insomniac, and they help each other heal and grow during their sleepless night-time adventures. Fun book and great author. I'll definitely read her next book, "What Happened to Goodbye".

Great Summer Read submitted by unknown on August 29, 2011, 12:34pm One of Sarah Dessen's best books yet! Can't wait to read "What Happened to Goodbye".

!!!! submitted by torres4 on January 10, 2012, 5:37pm I'm so glad there are good reviews! I've never read this before, but I have read What Happened to Goodbye, (apparently this hadn't come out yet when all the other reviews were written...) and it was good. It hink I'm going to give it a try...

Great! submitted by alumeng.ajl on July 26, 2012, 7:29pm This is a really good book! It's not my favorite Sarah Dessen book ever, though. Some of the narrative seems a bit trippy, but it was a pretty good story overall.

One of her best submitted by harajuku528 on June 24, 2013, 1:09pm I thought this was one her best books.

Realistic Teen Romance submitted by skcramer on July 15, 2013, 8:28pm Second chances are at the heart of this young-adult novel in which studious loner Auden decides to spend the summer before college with her father and new stepfamily, surprising even herself as she begins to make friends, fall in love and find a second chance at the childhood she missed. Dessen’s novel moves far beyond the typical teenage romance. The long-term effects of divorce are realistically portrayed, and the focus on Auden’s dysfunctional family and personal growth add significant depth. Yet it is the romance that will likely hook teen readers as Auden and fellow insomniac Eli transform their sleepless nights into a series of adventures made magical by the night. Dessen fans will not be disappointed.

Summer Love submitted by smileforjd on July 19, 2019, 8:31pm This book encompasses the summer romance we are all wishing for. Go along for the ride (get it) any enjoy the journey with these amazing characters.

Second favorite Sarah Dessen book submitted by clk.9123 on August 22, 2022, 8:07pm This is my second favorite SD book, it might actually tie with the Truth About Forever. I don’t’ think she has written anything since that tops this one, the story set on the coast set over a summer between high school and college is timeless, and I love the growth of the character coming into her own after years of being the daughter her mother wanted her to be. The in between time between these two life experiences is a time for change and self exploration and I love that Sarah brings in topics of family dynamics, divorce, and death to add to the story’s feelings of realism.
