One Word: AWESOME submitted by Zhengyang1022 on August 4, 2011, 8:57pm Once you start reading this book, you gain momentum and you are forced to stick to the book. I think this book was one of my all time favorites.

Really Good submitted by Smiles on August 23, 2011, 2:50pm This book was really good! Once I picked it up, it was really hard putting it down.

Fantastic submitted by lballard on June 17, 2018, 10:26pm We enjoyed this author’s short realistic stories about growing up in America that were written for younger kids. It’s beautiful to see her epic piece for slightly older ones. In both she’s a master storyteller. I also appreciate the way she wove different Chinese myths into a seenless whole.

Cool submitted by changlin73 on June 20, 2018, 5:51pm This book is great. The other two books are also cool. I hope another book comes out soon!

Wow submitted by lstorc on August 28, 2018, 9:57am The story is engrossing and the artwork is phenomenal! Strong recommendation

Absolutely AMAZING! submitted by Claireywang on August 29, 2018, 7:26pm This is a truly great book and I recommend it to anyone, whether they’re Chinese or not. While I can clearly recognize some of the Chinese myths in the book, others are not as familiar. Either way, it was an amazing book and I just have to recommend it. I hope that if you choose to read this book, you will enjoy it as much as I did. This immediately found its way onto my favorites shelf.......

Great submitted by somewhere.gone on June 14, 2019, 7:00pm Very sweet and amazing.

Riveting submitted by Lori Tschirhart on June 24, 2020, 7:01pm Great adventure story for kids.

Where the Mountain Meets the Moon submitted by SBNB on July 7, 2021, 1:39pm I don’t remember why I requested this book, but it ended up being really good. It took a few chapters to get into it, but I ended up devouring it in one afternoon.

perfect submitted by graytabby on August 1, 2021, 10:37pm Read this for Battle of the Books a few years ago, wasn't disappointed. Hard to believe at some points, but I'm always up for Chinese mythology .

A very delicious book!!!!!!! submitted by mayaisAWESOME on August 18, 2021, 3:18pm This is a great book about a girl who goes on a Journey to meet a guy called "the man of the moon" who basically makes life. Along the way she meets a dragon, a king, and a very happy family. Two of the kids from the family show the girl and the dragon the way to their destination. It was a great book except my mom keeps forgetting the title.

Beautiful submitted by Harlowamy on August 28, 2021, 4:57pm A wizard of oz story

Gratitude submitted by Linda Rama on June 16, 2022, 9:07pm Happiness, love and peace are very accessible to all who look for it. The girl who journeys so far from home learns that she can help her Ma, Ba and herself to be most content. Learning that they already have enough gives them the most important opportunity to help those less fortunate.

Wonderful Fantasy Story submitted by smsurerus on July 22, 2022, 11:16pm My girls and I just finished reading this book together. Such a wonderful story with endearing characters and an engaging plot. Worth the read!

chapter book submitted by K.O on July 11, 2023, 6:48am great chapter book

A fun read submitted by Diananana on July 20, 2023, 10:51pm This book was a very quick read for an adult. Younger readers need not be intimidated by its 278 pages. Great illustrations. I like the fact that no one in the book speaks a word of surprise or disapproval that a girl goes on such an epic journey.. The author's incorporation of adapted Chinese legends adds cultural depth. Adapted legends put me in mind of Lawrence Yep's four volume Dragon Series, published in the 1980s, which still holds appeal for tweens to teens. Unfortunately, AADL now has only the third volume of that series, Dragon Cauldron. Where the Mountain Meets the Moon also makes me think of the Malvina Reynolds song, Love is something if you give it away ... you end up having more. I think you'll see why when you read the book.
