Worth 2 or 3 looks submitted by breaking_glass on August 20, 2010, 2:36pm Not my favorite Godard film, but it's a good one. It's a less romantic view of Paris in the mid-1960s. Things were becoming more modern, consumer culture becoming the norm. Our main character Juliette, for example, moonlights as a call girl for extra money to buy nicer clothing. Visually, the film is just beautiful. As far as the meaning, it's less plot and more atmosphere - but not without meaning. I actually don't think I've really absorbed it all just watching once, and I'd like to have a better understanding of what was happening in France at the time to try and get more out of it. Definitely still a reminder for me how much change was taking place in the1960s all over the world, not just in the United States.
