Originally released as a motion picture in 2008.
Clint Eastwood, Bee Vang, Ahney Her, Christopher Carley.
Walt Kowalski is a widower who holds onto his prejudices despite the changes in his Michigan neighborhood and the world around him. Walt is a grumpy, tough-minded, unhappy old man, who can't get along with either his kids or his neighbors. He is a Korean War veteran whose prize possession is a 1972 Gran Torino he keeps in mint condition. When his neighbor, Thao, a young Hmong teenager, becomes pressured by his gang member cousin to steal Walt's Gran Torino, Kowalski sets out to reform the youth. Drawn against his will into the life of Thao's family, Walt is soon taking steps to protect them from the gangs that infest their neighborhood.
DVD, region 1, widescreen (2.35:1); Dolby Digital.

A Grand Life submitted by irenzero on July 1, 2009, 12:35pm Has Eastwood made his Shootist? I'm not sure, what I can say is that with this film, his stated final as an actor, Eastwood breaths humanity into the types of characters he is best know for without giving in to the easy happy ending where everyone learns some life changing lesson. To be sure life changing lessons are learned and people grow learn and evolve, but it never seems forced, never seems like some sort of Scrooge like about face in behavior and attitude. If this is Eastwood's final statement as an actor I think he can rest easy that his body of work, the good and the bad, has been capped with a fine performance and a solid if not classic film.
