Great submitted by ljq on July 16, 2011, 3:43pm This season was amazing!

Must see! First appearance of River Song. submitted by cherylo on July 22, 2011, 9:12pm The Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead two-parter introduces River Song, who is an important character in the Whoniverse going forward. If you've seen Series 5 & 6 (Matt Smith, Eleventh Doctor), make sure you watch this storyline, especially if you plan to re-watch those series or even just the River Song cannon. Many Who fans don't like Midnight, but I thought it was an interesting story that still has unanswered questions to explore.

Must See TV submitted by brady.emmett on August 1, 2011, 10:12am I really love Doctor Who, having only been introduced to it with the rebooted series. Season 4 is among my favorites. At first I wasn't terribly keen on Donna Noble as the companion. She has a tendency to be shrill. When I got the fact that Donna really becomes the Doctor's best friend, my impression of the whole season changed. Donna is no Rose or Martha or Amy, because she is Donna. And that makes it wonderful, all on its very own. David Tennant continues to be an awesome Doctor and owns the role.

I'm with cherylo, the Silence/Forest two-parter is essential viewing. It broke my heart, and then I saw the rest of River Song.

River Song submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on July 19, 2013, 9:59pm In the two-part story ("Silence in the Library" and "Forest of the Dead") we first meet archaeologist Dr. River Song, who will play a vital role in the Doctor's life, although this is very unclear at first. It is especially confusing why she did not recognize the Doctor when she first met him in this episode (keep watching the series and you'll understand why).

River Song and Donna Noble continue to mark an improvement in "Doctor Who" female companions, from simpering victims to tough, take-charge, smart women who solve problems.
