Lost in translation submitted by mandevil on June 14, 2017, 11:11am Yes the film is in English, but it's the English culture that is difficult to understand. Two men have wives that pass away, one upperclass the other working class. For reasons I could not figure out the working class man moves in with the upperclass man and puts up with his condescending and shabby behavior, essentially becomes his unpaid loyal and humble servant. I'm not sure why anyone would put up with this. There is no indication the working class man worked previously as a servant.....Albert Finney gives a fine performance as a flamboyant and vain bounder.
