Harvey is a divorced, down-on-his-luck music jingle composer. Kate is a lonely British airline employee. Chance brings them together. Harvey's intention is to only stay for the wedding ceremony of his daughter, he rushes off to the airport so he can make it home for an important music industry meeting. When Harvey gets let go from his job, he decides to stay in London and go to his daughter's wedding reception. He finds Kate and asks her to accompany him to the reception.

Great Actors and decent script submitted by gcn9 on September 8, 2009, 11:48am The pleasure here is watching Hoffman and Thompson. Every scene they're in together is just superb. And this isn't all sugar-coated entertainment as Hoffman's character has a serious character flaw that he barely learns to control and sometimes the flaw makes you really cringe. It's reassuring that they can still make an "actors" film in the face of all the giant robots and super heroes on today's movie screens.
