SHREKU-DESU submitted by IsaGab2 on October 23, 2019, 12:54pm I'M GLAD YOU GUYS FINALLY LEARNED TO APPRECIATE SHREK.

Boomers, I'm still watching you.

A Holiday in the Swamp submitted by Meginator on July 10, 2023, 11:35pm This is a fairly typical Shrek-type story, themed to the holiday season with Shrek learning a version of the True Meaning of Christmas. The main cast, along with the franchise’s most prominent supporting characters, come together for a holiday celebration in the swamp that holds just about zero narrative surprises but that still has its charm. Unlike in the films, the use of pop songs for the majority of the sound track feels oddly intrusive, save for one excellent choice during the story’s quietest, most contemplative moment. The script stretches a little much in places, trying too hard to recapture the magic of the original movie’s blend of irreverence and heart, but the overall narrative arc works fairly well and feels true to these well-established characters. This isn’t particularly good and I don’t feel the need to revisit it, but it is on par with (or maybe even slightly better than) most direct-to-video holiday specials for familiar animated franchises.
