Delightful Christmas Stories submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 9:10pm This early reader includes four delightful short stories about Dragon as he celebrates Christmas in his own special way. The stories are both heartwarming and goofy, tackling familiar holiday themes with a slight twist. Dragon is charming, and the almost impressionist backgrounds give the book a vibrant visual style that might overwhelm some readers but which I found to be fitting for the book’s sense of humor. Though the individual tales are not directly linked, some of the decorative elements carry through the illustrations, maintaining the sense that readers are indeed following Dragon through a few days of preparation for Christmas. Readers of Dav Pilkey’s other books will know a bit of what to expect here, and I found this to be a delightful and very funny Christmas book with a surprisingly sentimental catch at the end.
