Read this! submitted by jdgerich on July 26, 2015, 1:34pm An amazing story. Uplifting, heart-breaking, and terrifying all at once.

Heartbreaking, but wonderful submitted by sseaver on July 1, 2016, 3:02pm An "insider" view to Alzheimers that is heartbreaking but eloquently written.

Still alice submitted by leenajong on August 7, 2016, 6:32am Amazing book. A must read!

Such a cool perspective! submitted by mjs91408 on October 3, 2018, 6:57pm I've interacted and worked with a lot of people with dementia, but this gave me a whole new insight. This book was addicting.

Excellent book submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on June 23, 2023, 11:43pm 4.5/5 stars. Oh, wow. I saw the movie years ago and can’t remember if the book was already on my to read list or if I put it on because of the movie. Regardless, the movie was wonderful and the book is even better. Telling the story from Alice’s POV is incredibly powerful, yet Genova still captures some of the journey that her family members travel. I was a teenager when my grandmother had Alzheimer’s and lived with us for a while, but I still remember seeing some of the confusion, anger, and loss captured in this book. There is a scene with Alice and John eating ice cream on a bench close to the end of the book that (no spoilers here) I think lets on to WAY more than the words actually shared. Of all the heartbreaking moments in the book, I think that one broke my heart the most.
