COMMUNITY REVIEWS
A museum at home submitted by nsvinicki on July 24, 2018, 8:52am I checked this book out hoping to find patterns and instructions, but it's really more of a coffee table book on the history and culture of embroidery on textiles around the world. As that, it was invaluable - it's an exhaustive discussion of the ways different cultures decorate their clothing and textiles. It doesn't give a detailed history of the changes in each culture's decorations through time, but it does give many excellent examples of the prevailing methods and motifs. Lots of beautiful pictures! Great for an inspiration book or anyone interested in embroidery and garment decoration!
