Catscratch characters FIGHTING ROBOTS AND SAVING THE WORLD submitted by dvincenz on July 16, 2011, 1:45pm Remember that Nick show Catscratch back in 2006? This is the book that started it all. It's a little strange reading about your happy little cats in a cold-war-robot-destruction-action-adventure-death-situation, but if you can get around that it's a really fun book.

Doug TenNapel's bamboo-brush sloppy artstyle is a blast of color and silliness WITHOUT being impossible to read and causing your head to explode from SHEER SLOPPINESS. So that's good.

The story is slightly dark however, and is a CATS AND DOGS AND INSECTS AND ROBOTS AND MUTATIONS AND EXPLOSIONS take on the Cold War. Or at least that's the only thing I can think he's talking about. DARN SYMBOLISM.

It's a really fun book and has great art and a wonderful, if mildly dark, story, CONSIDER READING IT. IT'S COOL.

OKAY BYE.
