We read this book on my birthday and I wanted to really enjoy this book, but I think we average enjoyed this book. The concept is great about what it takes to make a birthday cake. It takes a whole year, 4 seasons, night and day, a lot goes into making the cake. My family just didn’t feel the excitement the author felt.
Illustrations are bright, colorful, sharp, and celebratory.
