COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Crazy Dedication submitted by Sara W on July 2, 2011, 8:17am We keep watching these climbers push themselves to the limits, and my reaction is a mixture of admiration for their dedication and lack of understanding for the drive that keeps them trying despite the danger and their misery.

Watching them train and struggle helps build suspense, but it also gives the viewer a better sense of what goes into the Everest experience. I enjoy watching Russell Brice run his super-camp. He's the best expedition leader on the north face and I'm consistently impressed by his ability to make smart, difficult decisions and his efforts to care for his sherpas, clients and everyone else climbing the mountain and benefiting from his safety ropes.

I was seriously rooting for Phurba and David Tait to accomplish their double traverse. The audacity of their never-before-accomplished goal was balanced out for me by David's coolheadedness about the whole thing. And I completely felt they could do it, too! Even weather was on their side! I also liked that they were in unknown territory on the south face with no ropes - it felt like a much more authentic and unique experience than most climbers ever have on that mountain.

Still Fascinating submitted by Meginator on June 18, 2017, 10:12am Disc two of this series continues the drama from the first, as the climbing team becomes increasingly acclimated to Everest's unique perils. The show has an excellent balance of drama and education, and you really start rooting for everyone to make it as the group comes closer to their summit push.
