COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Good, but not great! submitted by pmysore on August 18, 2011, 4:39pm Not as good as the Book.
Interesting watch submitted by janejna on July 23, 2014, 9:45am A story about a young man giving up on modern society and traveling without many belongings or money. The movie is well done but the commentary on the rejection of living in our capitalism-driven world is not as focused as it could be. Overall, this movie is interesting but not superb.
into wild submitted by hcf on August 2, 2014, 4:53pm i enjoyed this book more than the movie. however, emile hirsch did a good job
4 of 5 stars. submitted by cullerth on July 11, 2018, 10:10pm A descent adaptation overall, though I think the movie did the book a disservice. It brought Chris McCandless' story to a wider audience, but it cheapened it somewhat. Emile Hirsch is fantastic though - he occupied the role well. The scene in which he stands face to face with a grizzly bear still gives me chills.
Into the wild submitted by crp on August 21, 2019, 10:09pm Based on a true story, worth watching - interesting
Emile Hirsch did a nice job submitted by yufamily on July 4, 2021, 1:14pm Like others, I feel the book was better than the screenplay.
Good Movie submitted by MikkiMoscara on August 1, 2023, 1:01pm It's 3 hours long, but I really liked the way they segmented the movie. Also, the acting was incredible and Eddie Vedder's music in the movie really goes with the feel.
