A rich Komarran merchant fleet has been impounded at Graf Station, in distant Quaddiespace, after a bloody incident on the station docks involving a security officer from the convoy's Barrayaran military escort. Lord Miles Vorkosigan of Barrayar and his wife, Lady Ekaterin, have other things on their minds, such as getting home in time to attend the long-awaited births of their first children.

Miles Vorkosigan submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on July 23, 2013, 8:50pm Miles and Ekaterin Vorkosigan are finally off on their much-delayed honeymoon when the emperor sends them to Graf Station to resolve a diplomatic incident. There, Miles reunited with the Betan hermaphrodite Bel Thorne, which is fortunate as he confronts a plot by his planets' enemies to cause yet another war.
The Vorkosigan series (be sure to read all of them, preferably in order) portrays Miles, who has brittle bones due to a chemical attack before his birth, as very intelligent and the hero in most situations. He also has a love life, so it is a positive and three-dimensional portrayal of a person with a disability in science fiction. The universe in which the novels are set includes people of many genders and sexual orientations, so the books are very LGBT-friendly.
