Bruce Willis, Timothy Olyphant, Justin Long, Maggie Q, Cliff Curtis, Jonathan Sadowski, Andrew Friedman, Kevin Smith.
NYPD Detective John McClane has faced some brutal terrorists in his career, but now, he's about to face what may be his most dangerous enemy yet. John, who occasionally does work for the United States Department of Homeland Security, receives a call to bring in a hacker named Matt Farrell, because there has been a breach in an FBI computer system. Farrell is one of the many hackers who are suspected in the attack. After John gets to Matt's apartment, a group of men show up and try to kill John and Matt. They barely escape with their lives. A group of terrorists led by Thomas Gabriel are systematically shutting down the United States computer infrastructure. Luckily, Matt knows enough about hacking to figure out how Gabriel is shutting down the computers. Gabriel plans to bring the country to its knees, but he doesn't count on John and Matt. Gabriel wants John and Matt out of the way. It becomes personal for John when an enraged Gabriel kidnaps his daughter Lucy. Gabriel may think he now has the upper hand on John, but he has no idea how far John is willing to go to rescue Lucy.

the surprise submitted by lekendrick on September 28, 2010, 2:07pm is gone in the die hard world! The original highlighted a reluctant hero, but yet still you've to respect such an special effects bill as that! Advancing the art form through a franchise's sure footing, & that's fine, but? It washes over in waves had been said of a batman you'd forgotten the beginning of an action sequence, Rodger Ebert, by the time it'd stopped! An these border line that realm a critique quite weak my mind fans of the genre, the additional of, one dimensional characters placed only in service to plot? Well, that in addition on deaf ears fell!

I liked it submitted by ejmarcash on August 22, 2012, 5:19pm Not Academy Award material but it satisfied my action/thriller movie need. Plus, it had Maggie Q as a bad-ass, karate chopping bad guy.

lfodh submitted by a2sue on August 26, 2013, 1:21pm i love the die hard film franchise, but this one wasn't as good as some of the others. still, i did enjoy it.

Live Free or Die Hard submitted by SBNB on June 26, 2014, 12:33pm This is a great installment of Die Hard. It almost didn’t feel like a Die Hard movie, which is a good thing.
