great prints submitted by camelsamba on June 24, 2014, 7:58pm I skimmed a few of the essays, but spent most of my time studying the prints. They are really quite wonderful, and provide insight into the culture of the area. It was interesting to see how the subject matter changed over the years, in part because the lifestyle changed from nomadic (?) to settled.
Inspiring art submitted by teri on August 18, 2020, 12:18am In 1959, James Houston and Kananginak Pootoogook came together to encourage art as a way for the Inuit population of Kinngait (Cape Dorset) to earn money. This book is a testament to what came of that venture, with both photos and stories of the local artists.
