Experimental Yet Pleasant submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 9:39pm This experimental indie rock album never lets its avant garde instincts overwhelm basic musical instinct, and the result is a forward-thinking album that invites serious reflection without sacrificing (too much) listening pleasure. It’s interesting without being alienating, and offers a lot to reflect on and think about but doesn’t demand constant attention. Animal Collective gets the balance of experimentation and tradition just right here, and it’s an interesting experience overall.
