As Soran escapes with Klingon cronies, Picard learns that Soran's plan is to summon a heavenly energy ribbon called the Nexus. Attempting to stop Soran, Picard ends up inside the Nexus, where he discovers former Captain James T. Kirk, who was believed to have been killed in an accident seventy-eight year earlier.

Guinan submitted by beeniepie on August 11, 2013, 12:47pm Guinan was always a minor character on the tv series, but played a more prominent role in this movie.

It was an entertaining foil to see the two captains working together -- stoic Picard to overdramatic Kirk.

Great Star Trek movie! submitted by Xris on August 29, 2018, 8:04am Interesting to have the two captains together in this movie. Great cast and loved being back in the realm of Star Trek!

A pretty good Trek Movie submitted by peteralway on August 31, 2018, 7:56pm It was nice to see one last bit of the original Star Trek crew. Having watched the entire Next Generation series, it was also a satisfying Next Gen movie.

The death of Kirk. Twice. submitted by tbbrown76 on July 6, 2020, 9:09pm Roddy McDowell plays a great villain. Picard and Kirk both save the day. A few Starships get banged up, but that's par for the course.
Recommended.

Great Bridge between series submitted by kathscot on June 12, 2021, 11:30am A very nice movie bridging the worlds of Kirk and Picard. Some insights into both captains and a good complicated villain.

Picard & Kirk submitted by ChallngOfTheStrs on August 28, 2021, 1:17am I'm not as big of a fan of this movie, but it's worth watching if you're a fan of the franchise. Part of the idea in this film was to bridge the gap between the original series and Star Trek: The Next Generation. While it does accomplish this, I just wasn't as impressed with the storyline and the Nexus tangent. This seemed a bit tedious to me. It was neat to see Picard and Kirk working together though.
