A Nobel Prize caliber novel is reduced to a worthless script and poor acting. Pitiful. submitted by Tassos on February 23, 2023, 9:32am Hemingway sure would have hated this god-awful movie version of his outstanding novel. Nothing works in this stupid movie.

Only the nice color makes one think that all these B&W movies supposedly depicting the 20s to 40s have given the viewers a very wrong impression of how things really looked then.

Watching this crap in regular speed is really painfully boring, so I got the subtitles and view it now at DOUBLE SPEED. This also gets rid of the godawful violins.

this did not help either. I skipped many many stupid scenes.

This is a movie about utterly worthless clowns doing worthless things. A bunch of worthless drunks, drin=king their livers to death from early morning, doing nothing worthwhile with their lives.

And then we have the politically correct animal abuse they seem to enjoy, the god damned bullfights. They all look like idiots, but evil idiots as well... if this is possible,.
