A Change submitted by Sonia on July 15, 2011, 11:28pm This album is a huge change from her previous albums. It is much more upbeat but the songs are still really good and have that Avril feel to them.

A Step Back submitted by Meginator on June 28, 2018, 7:56pm This album has a much poppier vibe than Avril’s previous two releases, and the result is somewhat uneven. “Girlfriend” is an all-timer that still sounds awesome, but many tracks feel a bit forced, as if she’s more concerned about her image than about the types of lyrics that created that image in the first place. I’m all for artistic evolution, but the angst here largely feels misplaced and forced; the moments of pure fun and/or honesty prove that Avril still has a lot left in the tank even if this album is, as a whole, disappointing.
