good artwork submitted by camelsamba on July 8, 2011, 9:54pm I decided to read this book because I had a friend who lived and taught in the Ivory Coast for a couple of years. I thought I would learn more about the culture, but for the most part, you don't really learn about much distinctive to Cote D'Ivoire in the story (although the notes at the end are interesting!). Most of the characters are shallow and not very likeable. But the artwork is grand, and it was a fun easy read - it just wasn't the kind of book I feel myself drawn to.
