I'm An Adult Now, I Swear submitted by paper girl on June 29, 2019, 10:53pm I grew out of this series about a decade back, but I'll come across an old book-on-CD from elementary school and remember how much "Magic Tree House" meant to me. As a big reader, it was no surprise that it was such a big hit for me, but even my book-adverse brother loved this series. We would sit together for hours making things out of Lego and listen to "Magic Tree House". It's a great, intriguing standby for pre-middle school readers of all preferences.

Awesome submitted by TLW1998 on August 5, 2019, 9:03pm We love Magic Treehouse books. They are educational, and the characters are kind and sweet. The storylines are good, and I even enjoy reading them to my 4-year old. These books have just the right intensity to make you want to keep turning the page, but not scaring your kid. They are excellent adventure books where you learn cool facts along the way. And, they teach kids through Jack’s example to use books for reference and as a resource to help you. They definitely promote a love of reading by using books throughout their adventures.

I can not say enough good things about this series. It is the best children’s chapter book series that I ever ran across. We ended up buying the entire collection because we read them so often and again and again.

The Merlin Missions (later half of the Magic Treehouse series) are a bit longer and involve more magic and fantasy lands. They are great imaginative tales, and they are considered a little more advanced reading.
